Enterprise Lean Sigma Project Leader

This role will require strong interpersonal skills as you will be influencing and motivating leaders as well as working with getting buy in and cooperation on the plant floor.  We need someone that has high energy, is passionate about lean and can identify and work on issues with little hand holding.  This is a very hands on role where you will be interacting daily with all levels of the organization to achieve performance and change goals.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify improvement opportunities that will eliminate Non-Value Added activities and support ELS Manager in deploying Enterprise Lean Sigma regionally including coaching lean methodology and tools.
  • Develop, sell (influence) and deploy strategies to drive change and increase Customer value
  • Develop functional leaders and team leaders into lean leaders by coaching, and developing leader standard work and managing for daily improvement processes.
  • Support implementation teams to drive standards improvement across the division by training them on the value steam management process, 5S, visual controls, total productive maintenance, Kanbans, Managing for Daily Improvement, Standard Work, creating flow, pull, etc.
  • Develop ELS training plans, site's trainers and track progress.
  • Teach and lead current and future state value stream mapping process
  • Responsible for managing Kaizen Standard Work and developing Kaizen capability by coaching Kaizen Leaders on Charter development, pre-work, baseline analysis, leading the event, and ELS tools.
  • Support in managing the Kaizen plan and track Kaizen progress. Hold Kaizen leaders and process owners accountable for improvements and sustaining gains.
  • Work with ELS resources in other groups and regions to develop standards and share best practices.
  • Identify and communicate various ELS readings, training and benchmark opportunities

Results Management:

  • Support in the relentlessly pursuit of waste elimination from every business process with the ultimate goal of being a world class operation
  • Identify project or Kaizen opportunities within the region and teach leaders how to scope and execute using ELS tools.
  • Use Value Stream Maps to establish the baseline process and measure progress toward future state.
  • Accountable for sustained results.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required,
  • 3-5 years of  business, operations or Lean Experience with a demonstrated ability to energize others and generate results
  • Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing and/or Supply chain background preferred
  • Strong project management experience
  • High Energy, passion for excellence, bias for action and enthusiasm
  • Proven leadership skills -able to influence and motivate others without reporting lines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills: ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner
  • Good understanding of business issues, metrics and customer value
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead change and strong coaching skills
