Director--Process Excellence with Lean/healthcare experience

The Director of Process Excellence will be a Lean expert/internal consultant responsible for leading and driving the adoption of the Lean Production System to deliver significant operational improvement, financial benefit and enhanced customer satisfaction.  

Leads the culture change needed for an effective Lean process improvement system by directing, analyzing, planning, and implementing the essential tools of Lean and modeling/providing education for Lean principles. 

Serves as a liaison between the corporate and practice leadership with respect to Lean and mentor/coach to leadership throughout implementation.

Directs cross-functional teams through improvement projects and facilitate progress until project goals are met.

Experience
Preferred: Ten (10) years progressive experience in healthcare industry, including both clinical and leadership/management experience, with five (5) years Lean implementation experience. 

Minimum: Seven (7) years progressive experience in healthcare or three (3) years Lean implementation experience.

Required: Demonstrated effectiveness (ROI) driving improvement utilizing formal process improvement/Lean system. 
 
Skills/Abilities
  • Thorough attention to identifying and creating project plans aligned with measurable outcomes/goals.
  • Healthcare/business acumen to establish and maintain credibility and relationships with physician/senior leadership.
  • Lead and motivate groups of different functions and educational levels to achieve outcomes. 
  • High level of communication and facilitation skills to move Lean throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Experience teaching/coaching Lean principles.

  • Education Requirements
    EDUCATION: 
    Preferred: MD, Doctor of Nursing, or Nurse Practitioner (NP).  
    Minimum: 
    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, Finance, Health Administration, RN, or related field.

    CERTIFICATION:
    Preferred: Green- or Black-Belt Level Lean Certification. 
    Minimum: Ability to obtain such certification within the first year of employment.
